Ammonium-Assisted Intercalation of Java Bentonite as Effective of Cationic Dye Removal

نویسندگان

چکیده

Modification of Java bentonite assists by the multi-step intercalation sodium and ammonium ions under low-temperature preparation. The adsorbent was examined to remove rhodamine B methylene blue dyes in an aqueous solvent. analysis structural changes conducted XRD showed peak shifting from 19.89° 16.1° specific spectra FTIR 2846.93 cm-1 due increase basal spacing intercalation. total capacities NH-bentonite, Na-bentonite, Natural Bentonite adsorption were 192.308 mg/g, 136.936 116.279 respectively, acidic conditions. Furthermore, 270.27 158.73 136.986 alkaline mechanism described that removal occurred endothermically, feasible, adhered kinetics model pseudo-second-order Langmuir isotherm. It concluded modified is affordable effective as wastewater treatment.

Effect of activation factors on adsorption of cationic dye, methylene blue, by activated bentonite

The aim of this investigation was to study the relationship between activation factors and adsorption of cationic dye, methylene blue MB, by activated bentonite. The adsorption index was investigated as a function of acid type, time and temperature. A commercial bentonite was selected as a starting material and the effect of heat treatment on MB adsorption were determined in a batch setup. Thou...

Functionalization of Bentonite by Intercalation of Surfactants

The functionalization of bentonite by intercalation of surfactants dodecylamine, hexadecylamine, octadecylamine, and the octadecyltrimethylammonium cation is described. Products are characterized by elemental analysis, thermal analysis, FT–IR spectra, and powder X-ray diffraction analysis. Laminar amine-clay nanocomposites contain about one mol amine per (Si,Al)4 clay unit, while the cationic s...

Nanosheets of BiOCl Incorporated in Microflowers: Microwave Assisted Synthesis and Dye-Photosensitized Removal of Pollutants

BiOCl microflowers were synthesized using bismuth nitrate pentahydrate and sodium chloride by microwave (MW) assisted synthesis method for 23 minutes at 180 W. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) studies revealed a unique morphology of flower-like assemblies comprised of nanosheets. The X-ray diffraction (XRD) pattern showed that a highly pure and crystalline phase has been obtained. The energy ...

Hydrophobicity of Lime Sludge Filled Paper Assisted by a Cationic Starch/CPAM/Bentonite Retention Aids System

Lime sludge is a special type of precipitated calcium carbonate (PCC) recovered from black liquor, which can be used as paper filler in the paper-making process. However, one of the biggest problems when lime sludge is used as filler is that it is difficult to hydrophobically size the filled paper, especially in the case of paper with high filler content. Also, the efficient retention of the si...

Effective Removal of Acid Black 1 Dye in Textile Effluent Using Alginate from Brown Algae as a Coagulant

In this study, the Acid Black 1 dye containing effluent collected from a dyeing unit was examined with the alginate extracted from the marine brown algae, Sargassum sp. for its removal. Batch experiments were carried out using standard Jar test apparatus. Fourier Transform InfraRed (FT-IR) Spectroscopy and Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) techniques were used to characterize the raw algin...
